Why VPN jurisdiction matters

Understand the difference between a VPN provider's legal jurisdiction and the country of a VPN server.

The legal provider is the starting point

A VPN service's legal entity and jurisdiction help identify which legal requirements can apply. The country where a VPN server is located is a separate fact.

Read jurisdiction alongside evidence

A jurisdiction alone does not prove a service is safe or private. Compare what data is processed, how long it is retained, who operates the service, and what independent auditors examined.

VPN price questions

Are these converted Dutch prices?

No. This version only accepts USD observations collected for United States. We never convert Dutch EUR prices into a local offer.

What if a local price cannot be verified?

The provider remains in the comparison, with a clear indication that its local checkout price has not yet been verified. Missing tax and renewal amounts are never filled in.

Does the monthly price mean monthly billing?

Usually not for a long subscription. A monthly equivalent divides the first invoice by every included month. The full invoice is normally paid upfront.

How is tax handled?

Sales tax can depend on your billing address. A country-level USD observation is not treated as a tax-inclusive final invoice. Check your state and ZIP code with the provider.

How fresh are the prices?

The scheduled price worker attempts a fresh observation every six hours. A failed attempt never refreshes an old observation date; prices disappear after 72 hours.

Does commission change the order?

No. Provider name is the default order. Price sorting uses only confirmed tax-inclusive first invoices; we do not publish a fabricated overall score.
